Mother & Child Sessions

Saturday, April 17th

Oh my goodness, what a dream this was. I am pinching myself after a day full of sunshine + joy. To show women how beatuoful they are, after the hardest year of thier lives. After months of caring for kids, feeding babies, tucking toes into beds, brushing little teeth, fighting nap times, begging little mpouths to eat vegeetables, sweeping the floors, putting dishes away for the milliionth time, working long after bed time, running businesses while bouncing a babe, loving a partner while struggling to love herself… this is why I hold these sessions, why I create these days.

12 mamas came into my back yard and every single one of them radiated beauty, they were able to put the rest of life on hold for 20 min, and my hope. is that in these photos they are able to see what I do, what their partners do, what their kids do, what we all know is so hard to see yourself.

They are magic.

This year, I partnered with East Van Garden Gal, who created a beautiful spring wreath for each mama to go home with, a little gift from me!

And the ever wonderful Floral Factory created this gorgeous dried floral piece, making the setting extra dreamy…

I can’t wait to create something new for the next set of sessions, I love creating these beatuiful backdrops, and after this magical day

it’s pretty clear I’ll be doing these outside a lot more often.
