I feel so lucky to have captured this day. Tammy and Ryan traveled out from Alberta to get married in one of their most favorite places on earth - Tofino, BC. They decided to focus the day on their love for each other, the beauty of their surroundings and the peaceful way the west coast forest and beaches made them feel. They contacted me and asked if I would photograph their elopement, and I jumped at the opportunity. This was the first elopement I have ever photographed, let alone been a witness to, and I really hope to photograph many more in the future. The entire day was focused on just them, it was such a special way to witness two people committing to a life together.
The day started off with Tammy relaxing and Ryan surfing...what better way is there!? They invited their dearest friends and daughter to be with them on the trip, and to stand up with them during their vows. There was no one leaning down the aisle to get an iphone photo, no bustle of bust feet, no one to distract from what truly mattered; Tammy and Ryan telling each other how much they love and adore each other.
Most important to them were beautiful images they could share with friends and family back home. We spent the day lounging in their cabin, drinking champagne on the beach and then watching the sun set over the ocean. It was an incredible day, they were so much fun and so relaxed that it felt like I was photographing my own dearest friends while saying I Do. I am so thankful that they shared this day with me, I hope they love these images for years and years to come.
